In order to view compiled HTML Help 1.x files, end users of your documentation must have:

• Internet Explorer 4 or higher.
• Windows 95 or later.
• The Windows HTML Help viewer (installed as part of Windows on Windows 98 or later).

Microsoft Help 2.x

In order to view compiled Microsoft Help 2.x files, end users of your documentation must have:

• Internet Explorer 6 or higher.
• Microsoft Help 2.x components and a help viewer (installed with the MSDN viewer and Visual Studio).

• Visual Studio 2015, 2017 or 2019
