    SEO friendly HTML output

Hi The HTML output that Help studio currently produces is great, very functionally and easy for the end users, however the use of framesets has a number of draw backs. 1. It makes it difficult to bookmark pages or pass links to pages. 2. Google doesn’t seem to like it much, the Google bot seems to have trouble crawling these pages. 3. Its easy to end up with nested menus if you jump between content created with Help Studio and content on the main site. A resolution to this would be to offer a html generation option that did not make use of frames. Ideally a solution that did not involve loading of the whole menu structure for each page viewed... Any thoughts? Simon

You can link to a specific page in the web output using the following syntax: webframe.html?topicname.html

We are working on a new template for the web output for the next version of HelpStudio, however this template will also use frames (which have been re-introduced in the HTML 5 spec).

You can customize the web output template by creating a new custom template based on the default browser template (you can find a tutorial movie on creating custom templates here:  http://www.innovasys.com/movies/viewmoviefeed.aspx?id=8527235f-aba8-4b93-bf0a-41877bb69c1b ).
