    "Corrupt Installation Detected" Error

    I installed Document X 2008. The file I compiled (.chm) on my computer does not show the effect of the stylesheet in the ouput. But, the same file shows up just fine on other computers. So, I uninstalled the product (Start>Control Panel>Add or remove Programs> Remove). When I try to reinstall, I get the "Corrupt installation detected" error message.

    I then copyied the installtion files to my computer, and run them. But, this way I get another error. "Error 1406: Could not write value to key \Software\Classes\dxc", and 2 more of the same kind.

    I was considering checking the registry.

    Any suggestions on how to handle/fix the problem?

    Thanks.

    Can you run the installer and select repair. Once this is done can you perform a clean install please.

    1.  Un-install Document! X
    2.  Reboot your machine
    3.  Remove the innovasys directory.
        XP = program files\innovasys\.
        Vista = program data\innovasys\.
    4.  Install Document! X

    If you are installing on Vista can you run the installer using the "Run as Administrator" context menu option.

    Re: "Corrupt Installation Detected" Error

    Mike,

    Thank you for your response. There was another problem: the security level on my anti-virus software was high. That prevented the registry keys from getting deleted even though I'd uninstalled the product. Lowering the secuity level enabled me to re-install without any issues. Big Smile

    Thanks again!
