    Help creating Bookmarks

Can anyone help with with creating a bookmark?  I see in the help file how to link to a bookmark, but I cannot figure out how to actually create the bookmark in the first place.

This seems like it would be fairly simple, but I can't get it to work.  I want to bookmark a drop down Widget in my project and link to it as a reference in the same topic.

    Help please!  Thanks.

You can create a Bookmark by going to Insert > Bookmark.

    Re: Help creating Bookmarks

Well, that much I was able to figure out.  I need more details than this.  I have tried using your help explanation, but it also isn't helping.

I was looking for something more along the lines of:

    1. Select your source information

    2. Go to XYZ and enter the bookmark name

    3. Select your target information

    4. Go to XYZ and select the bookmark

At least, this is how I think it should work.  I can't figure out how to create and select the bookmark I had created - it's not working.

There also seems to be something I'm doing wrong because when I try it on my own, I get a script error and my saved text gets deleted.  This why I want the detailed instructions so that I don't lose my text again by doing it incorrectly.

    Thanks.

    Re: Help creating Bookmarks

I apologize for any inconvenience this problem has caused you.

The end to end bookmark scenario would look like this:

    • Place cursor focus at the point in the topic that you want to link to and go Insert > Bookmark
    • Move to where you would like to link from (this could be in the same topic or a different topic) and click the Insert Hyperlink toolbar button (or Ctrl + K).
    • In the Hyperlink designer select the topic that your bookmark is in then at the bottom the designer select the bookmark in the Bookmark combobox.

Let me know if you are still experiencing problems.

Thank you!  This is exactly what I needed.  I was missing one piece.
